What is an example of how you led a team or group toward achieving an important goal?

In my current profession, I am always leading my team and implementing goals that are set monthly. We put our customers first so making sure that we provide services according to our mission statement.

Why are you running for this office, and why should voters choose you over your opponent(s)?

I am running for the following listed below:

1. Property Rights

2. Excellent Education so our children may contribute to society
3. A healthy Economy
4. My love for the City
5. To improve the city where there is a need
6. Affordable housing
7. Preservation for Historical landmarks
8. Homeless crisis

My husband and I have raised most of our children here and still have one in middle school. I want to shape the future of Lewisville by taking an active roll in our local city council. I also want to start positive conversations in lieu of negative conversation so that we came bring about positive change. Lastly building strong communities. When I was a child growing up a strong community was something that was attainable.

Length of residency in your city or town and, if applicable, in your council district:

I have lived in Lewisville for the past 13 years

What current or former city or town council member do you most admire and why?

No answer provided.

What are the three most important actions you would take, if elected, and how would you advance them and pay for them?

1) Engaging Every Demographic- I believe the city can do a better job of creating community events that benefit all demographics. Creating opportunities for community members to participate will give the city a chance to build stronger relationships. I would propose working with different vendors in the community to put on events.

2) Diversifying Opportunities for the Community Voice their Opinion– The City Council needs to be all ears to every concern brought by the community. Our community will only advance if we create platforms for everyone to be involved. Traditionally the same people are running for elected positions. Typically only 1,000-2,000 vote in a city council election, for a place position. We need to seek out new avenues to encourage a diversity of voices to represent a place where many demographics call home.

3) LISD Student Homeless Population- I would like to spread awareness of our homeless student population and tackle this as a community. I know there are a couple of organizations working to help this population, but the city can certainly do more. This would involve learning more about this particular population and develop a strategy, so no child is homeless.

Where does the development or redevelopment emphasis need to be in your community – residential or commercial – and how has your municipal government performed in this area?

Both residential and commercial

What challenging demographic changes have been taking place in your community? What would your response be, if elected?

An increase in the Hispanic population and being able to reach out to all races. Also, researching ways to engage all races, because everyone needs to own a piece of the place they call home.

Please assess your community’s crime picture and what, if anything, you would try to improve or change.

The relationship with our police officers.

Does your city or town deliver services in the most cost-effective manner? Please be specific about improvements you would advocate.

Attempts have been made, but there is always room for improvement when it comes to cost-effective manner.

Please assess the property taxes levied by your city or town and whether it has the right balance between residential and commercial base. Would you take any initiatives in this area?

No answer provided.

How would you improve the quality of life in your city or town and, if appropriate, pay for any added programs?

Creating more opportunities for the community to exercise outside. Increasing the number of bike lanes around Lewisville. Taking another look at our parks to see if we can modernize it.

Please rate the transparency of decision-making in your city or town hall.

5 out of 10. Many Lewisville citizens are not aware of future decisions until the decision has already been made. We need to ensure that we sought out every opportunity to inform the citizens of Lewisville.

What is an uncomfortable truth about your city or town that voters must confront?

A large population of homeless LISD students.
